Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. She is also the elder sister of the former UFC Flyweight champ as well as the fellow UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko, a Muay Thai kickboxer, began her professional fight career during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was victorious in this event by unanimously defeating Suzane Miller. Antonina continued to win with a silver-medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, a gold medal in 2011 and the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia started her professional career in at the age of 2003. She took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships in 2012, The Lion Fight Lightweight Championships in 2016 as well as both the WMC World Championships and Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was victorious by unanimity. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut came in 2002, at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She won 3-0 following the second-round TKO. The next two bouts came at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing after which she took a lengthy break of MMA. She returned in 2017 when she faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko won against Anissa in a unanimously-decided match before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She joined Dana White Contender Series 2018 after leaving the promotion. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina displayed her power of striking by tying Nievera by knees. Antonina took the UFC invitation following her win. Antonina Shychenko made her debut in the UFC at the Heavy Hitters event of TUF finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took victory in a unanimous decision, but she was defeated in her next fight by Roxanne Modafferi via an undisputed split decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to beat Lucie Pudilova by choking her back in a rear-naked submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the bonus fight of the evening for this bout. Shevchenko lost to Katlyn along with Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She won over Ariane Lipski but she was also defeated by Ariane. Antonina is currently being lost to Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
